Walk in Tubs
Your bath should be a place to relax, not a source of worry. If you’re looking for a walk-in bathtub to keep you or someone in your family safe when bathing, then we can help. Our walk-in tubs have a number of features built to reduce the risk of injury to you or your loved one when taking a bath. They also have the added bonus of giving you that ‘spa’ sensation in the comfort of your own home! For the elderly, those with a disability or reduced mobility, these can be a fantastic option to reduce risk of slipping and falls.
Make and Model At Victoria Bathroom Reno’s, we have a number of makes, models and styles of walk in tubs for your bathroom renovation. These tubs are built with a watertight door, allowing the bather to step into the tub over a much lower threshold than your standard bath. Once they have had their bath, and the water has drained, they can then re-open the door and step out of the bath safely. The action carries much less risk than lifting your legs over the side of a bath to enter. To have your bath, you simply walk in and sit down. We have a range of walk-in tubs that help with a range of mobility issues, such as creating an easy transfer from wheelchair to the tub seat. Comfort There are a number of benefits to the walk-in tub. One of the biggest is comfort; because you no longer need to lift your legs over a tall bath wall, walk-in tubs can provide more water depth. Walk-in tubs can offer up to four feet of water depth for a totally immersive bathing experience. A seat within the walk-in tub is usually set at around 15-20 inches, meaning that you will have a further 20 inches to immerse your torso in that warm bath water! A number of additional features like hydrotherapy jets can also be added to our tubs. Safety Much of the technology behind walk-in tubs is designed to enhance and ensure your safety, specifically preventing slips and falls. Walk-in tubs offer a range of features to that effect. These include built-in handrails, anti-slip flooring, and low step height for entry. Some of our models also include wide doors which are designed to allow wheelchair users to transfer from wheelchair to tub seat without assistance. We can also include a ‘scald prevention valve’ which is designed and used to prevent hot water burns. You can bathe confidently in the knowledge that your bath is safe with Victoria Bathroom Reno’s. Size In general, walk-in tubs assume the same amount of space within your bathroom as a normal bathtub/ Most of these tubs, whilst taller than a standard bath, share the same width. Our diverse range means you can find the right bath to fit your bathroom space. If you have any questions about the practicalities of installation, which type of walk-in tub would be best for you, or would like a quote, then please get in contact with us. |
